Project Overview
Drac were engaged to replace an existing Cummins 2MW gas generator with a Caterpillar 2MW generator in an existing peak loading cogeneration plant. This project involved the complete design, fabrication and installation of all required components including the gas system, cooling water system, exhaust system and heat recovery systems.
Given this installation involved fitting a new generator into an existing enclosure, designing and packaging the mechanical system within the pre-determined footprint it proved challenging. Through Drac Mechanical’s innovated design approach and skilled installation team, the installed solution proved to be compact system with full maintainability.
This cogeneration plant has been operating continuously since installation was completed in June 2020
